Long absence explained
I started this blog this past March and after a handful of posts, stopped posting in early April. Part of the problem was not thinking through what would be involved in coming up with regular posts that hopefully would interest others. I am still working on that.
I do have another explanation which should cut me some more slack. I started preparing for the July Michigan Bar Exam. I just did not have time to write anything, even if I read about something that I had an opinion on.
I have a full time job that often involves overtime. There is no way for me to get around that. Any bar exam preparation would have to fit around my work schedule. So I started early. Starting the first week of April gave me sixteen weeks. Weekdays I studied two hours before going to my day job. Saturday and Sunday my goal was eight hours each. That would give me about twenty-six hours of study a week, with a total around four hundred hours. Of course my weekly average was somewhat less than my goal of twenty-six hours, since things do come up. But I did have a plan, and I did work the plan fairly well.
This past Tuesday and Wednesday I was in Lansing for my second attempt at this exam. I do believe that my efforts studying were productive. I have been to this dance before, so I am cautious about saying it, but I am optimistic. I know that I put much more study time in this time than the first time. (I had this same day job at that time, as well.) The first time, I knew that things hung in the balance when it was all over. This time, well, as I said, I am cautiously optimistic. Now I can have my regular life back.
So, with that explanation, I will get about the business of blogging about things that interest me. Mostly about law, mostly about Michigan. Thanks for stopping by.
